The University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) is a national examination. It is held twice a year by the National Testing Agency (NTA) to choose the finest students in the nation for Assistant Professor and Junior Research Fellowship positions in various institutions and colleges in India.
Aspirants who wish to get Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) or be a Lecturer must take the CBSE UGC NET Exam. The Central Board of Secondary Education administers the University Grants Commission – National Eligibility Test (UGC – NET) (CBSE).
UGC NET comprises two papers and is administered in two separate sessions. All NET exam papers: UGC NET Paper 1 and Paper 2 are essential for candidates, and these cover the entire UGC NET syllabus.
Steps to download UGC NET Syllabus
Knowing the UGC NET syllabus is the initial stage in exam preparation. The UGC NET syllabus is essential to begin the preparation. Moreover, as per the HRD Ministry, the UGC exam will be conducted by the newly formed NTA or National Testing Agency. Step 1: Visit the Official website
First, visit the official website of UGC. This is the official website where results and marks are uploaded, and students can even download the syllabus from this website.
Step 2: Tap on the Syllabus Tab
Once you enter the previously mentioned URL, the server will redirect you to the official website of UGC. Then, it would be best to locate the syllabus tab on the website–this is usually at the beginning of the website. Once you locate it, tap on the tab and wait for the page to open.
Step 3: Download Paper 1 Syllabus
Download the syllabus of Paper 1 from the webpage. Paper 1 is the General Paper on Teaching & Research Aptitude. This is common for all the applicants, irrespective of the subject they choose.So its syllabus is common for all the students appearing for the UGC NET exam. Also, candidates may download the syllabus in Hindi or English language as per their convenience. The syllabus gets downloaded in PDF form.
Step 4: Download Paper 2 Syllabus
Once the candidates have downloaded the syllabus for Paper 1, they may proceed to download the syllabus for Paper 2. The candidate must select the subject for Paper 2.
A candidate may either select the subject of his or her post-graduate studies or a comparable subject. The NTA UGC NET is held for a total of 81 disciplines.
As per the choice of the subject and subject code, candidates may download the syllabus in Hindi or English language as per their convenience. The syllabus gets downloaded in PDF form. You may even save the file or take printouts of the syllabus as necessary.
Note: The UGC NET Paper 1 is of 100 marks, and Paper 2 is of 200 marks. Moreover, candidates must finish both UGC NET papers in a total of three hours. There is no extra time provided to the candidates.
